About Kestrel’s Edge Studio

I'm Elizabeth; I live with my husband and two Airedale terriers on 20 acres of shrub steppe in Central Washington State. My interest in sharing the incredible local native beauty of where we live started almost from first day that we found the place and I started to take pictures of the wildflowers (I'm told we have at least 60 varieties in our area). And then there are the birds... They all came out to welcome us the day we found our property and when we built our home we named it Kestrel's Edge after the smallest American Falcon. We put up nesting boxes for them and the Bluebirds and we have watched each year as the new babies are hatched, nurtured and fledged. It is such a privilege for us.

I started to make cards from my photos for my relatives and friends for birthdays and anniversaries and the idea for the note cards came into being. In 2006 I was a vendor at the Kittitas County Farmers Market, and in 2007 I started with the Roslyn Sunday Market as well. In the fall I attend many local holiday bazaar events. I also create cards of quilts placed in outdoor settings, Christmas cards from snowy landscape photos, and a calendar for both 2007 and 2008. My initial interest was with making unique note cards, but I have since branched out to include framed and matted photographs - many of which I have along side the cards in stores in our local area - Conway Coffee Company in Cle Elum, Mangos Salon in Ellensburg, Pine St Mall, Bailey's Bibliomania also in Ellensburg.
